DaraPunk
Local punk band with girl vocalist. I found them very appealing. The lead paced the stage as if possessed but in a methodical way. Between songs she would mutter one nonsense word and I thought it was a secret message to the crowd but my 18 year-old pal pointed out that it could likely be the title of each song. I do have a soft spot for female rockers.

DaraBritpop, Heavy Metal
Public Image Ltd. vocals with riffs that progressed into Black Sabbath. Enjoyed their freakiness and vigor but a little unattainable maybe. From DC.

DaraPunk, Roots Reggae, Ska
Maybe my favorite show ever. They were so excellent I take a deep breath now. British inflected reggae. Stupid crazy outfits – party girls but not “typical girls.” Then some punk. I do have a soft spot for girl rockers but these girls crafted such fine fine songs.

DaraWorld Music
Supposedly keeping southern Indian traditions alive. Supposedly gypsy. Lots of really tiny musician guys. Obvious romantics, good musicians, didn’t move me too much.
