no doubt that she’s good but I’d seen her before, heading out to record in LA

BBQguy’s band—their best show ever—escaped me because Rockboy responded to my Christmas invite with news that he and Bestgirlfriend had New Year’s plans

have heard about them for a long long time, kept being surprised at the amount of gigs they had because confused them with Captain and Tenille, turns out they’re very enjoyable, some mix of Toadies and good unique alt rock, really enjoyed

appallingly boring, not quite singer/songerwriter but bad enough, one little mopey guy incessantly whining which is unfortunately similar to Mangolia

local band whose description moved me enough to e-mail them for news of next show, very apt musicians who were Black Sabbath so verbatim that you couldn’t respect them, but like Recordstoregirl said with cool non-enthusiasm “They’re fun.”

better than the first tragic time that I saw them but my favorite band isn’t such a great band, the crowd was terrible too—no flavor just like me, do like his voice, do like his sad little frame and sad eyebrows, the music was fuller but they played only one song I knew and there just isn’t enough variety in their music

appallingly wasted lead singer with similar stage-breathing crowd

know them because on my SPIN Essential Garage Rock CD, dorky energetic showmen, probably play casinos in Vegas, real problem was that the show I should have been at was happening one room over: Trail of Dead with Okkervil River opening

phenomenal, maybe the contrast with the other bands there effected me but immediately stirring and passionate without being cheesy

scream metal, all mohawked like the crowd, quite liked them but for vocals

three older guys, Rockboy says “more old school punk” and “like The Misfits,” they were a little duller but good

one of the big punk bands from the So Cal 80s punk scene, weirdly polite and old and upright, knew what they were doing of course, by this point I was bit bored, excellent crowd and scene though—all excitement
