Boz Skaggs sings a happy song “One For the Road” and it showed up in his opening set. “We’re All Alone” his huge hit (which even if can’t hear it in your head at this moment, you’d know it if you heard it on the radio) did not. He’s a veteran stage performer and his songs are very catchy, ala 1980.

John Cale opened the show and then stayed on stage to perform with the Creatures. Siouxsie took a break half way through the performance and gave the stage back to John Cale, much to my regret. Think Julian Cope (if that’s a helpful reference) or bad Lou Reed.

Siouxsie Sioux came out of the shadows of a doorway on to the mainstage with a spotlight on her. I was entranced. Her voice has never suffered from age and even though I wasn’t familiar with the songs, I was totally into it.

I have always been a huge fan of Pearl Jam, and had high expectations of this concert. There is a well-founded rumor that Pearl Jam hates Las Vegas, and this concert was a sure-fire confirmation of that. I can listen to Pearl Jam bootlegs without [...]
